Big Sandy High School

October 27, 2011 | Filed under: Benton

Our first time in Benton County was at Big Sandy High School, which is about 2 hours away!  We gave 2 seminars to 275 students and passed out 670 booklets, because many of the students asked for extra copies for their friends.

One student came to us after the seminar to tell us that 2 years ago, his friend was gunned down by a drug dealer only 3 feet from where he was standing. He was very disturbed by this. After listening to him, we suggested that he asked the principal if he could set up a poster that would say “In memory of my friend who died by the hand of a drug dealer, I pledge to stay drug free and to do everything I can to help others remain drug free, would you join me in that pledge?”
