International Overdose Awareness Day 2024 – #TogetherWeCan

Our community needs help! Drugs are killing our youth and motivating too much crime. We have to come together to do something about it!

In recognition of International Overdose Awareness Day, Drug-Free Tennessee is inviting all community partners and others interested in preventing drug abuse to a lunch and learn session. Find out the current scene in our area, and resources available to help.

This event focuses on two of the overall goals of International Overdose Awareness Day:

  • Provide an opportunity for people to publicly mourn loved ones.
  • Tell people who use drugs and people in recovery that they are valued.
  • Inform people around the world about the risk of drug overdose.
  • Provide basic information on the range of support services that are available.
  • Prevent and reduce drug-related harms by supporting evidence-based practice.

Often referred to as the connector, she has successfully brought together many different community sectors. Through her roles at STARS, she has amassed 10 years of prevention work in Middle Tennessee.
