Mayor’s First Day

The Nashville Mayor’s Office has a tradition each year where they have a 1st Day festival.  It’s the day before school starts and all kids are invited to come and get supplies they’ll need throughout the school year. Many organizations participate in handing out writing utensils, backpacks, crayons and more!

Non-profits are invited to participate with their materials to help kids in other ways throughout the school year. We were able to set up a space at this year’s First Day and pass out informational Truth About Drugs booklets to more than 3,000 students. The event only lasts 3 hours, so it was a race against time to get as many booklets to students as possible, but we did pretty good!
