Forum for Faith-Based Initiatives
We need to spread our drug-free message, as we’ve seen recent crime statistics and they are appalling! Within the last month, there have been over 700 drug-related crimes in the Metro Nashville area alone, according to crimemapping.org. So, just the other day, we were able to participate with a booth at a forum for Faith-Based Initiatives put on by the Tennessee Department of Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services!
This was a very good forum to help congregations and faith-based organizations to encourage recovery from substance abuse among any members who may have difficulty along this line.
We were able to get out Truth About Drugs booklets, newsletters, informational kits and the documentary with former users telling their stories! Feedback was great on the materials, and we really look forward to many more events like this one in the future.
